Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine an Sullivan, born and was raised within Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam her mother is a former backing singer who was a part of Philadelphia International Records. Her father offered her the position of curator of the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She together with her family later were able to move into the historical place of historical significance. As a 2005 Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduated, she is a major in singing. Sullivan started singing as a contralto in the children's choir, then just a few years later, in the adult choir. He was exposed to secular music but was initially limited "I performed solo at churches and a person wanted me to join an gospel label when I was eleven but I wasn't yet ready," she recalls. "Then when McDonald's was hosting a competition for students in big cities and I was offered the chance to perform 'Accept What God Gives' on Showtime in the Apollo and the audience responded really well". The singer performed along with Stevie Wonder at his grandson's birthday at the age of 13. Sullivan was first signed to Jive Records at the age 15. It was her first time signing with Jive Records at the age fifteen. She recorded an entire album. However, this album never saw release. Sullivan was eventually dropped from the label. They maintained a friendship with Missy Elliott and produced some of the songs in her debut album which included the hit single "Backstabbers" that was written and produced by Timbaland and composed by Elliott.
